For every ONE animal we save, we face the reality of turning away TWO.
This difficult circumstance is mainly due to space limitations, which brings to light the urgent need for Kitty City. Kitty City will allow us to save approximately 400 additional cats and kittens annually, for years to come.

THE MISTY EYES FACILITY: Build History & Timeline
2011
Misty Eyes Animal Center is founded by Cherie Fox and Renee Harlor.
2015
A ranch home on 3.1 acres of land is purchased on Dan Jones Road in Avon.
2016
Adoption Center construction begins with the renovation of the ranch home on the property.
2018
Misty Eyes moves into the renovated space that is now our Adoption Center.
Plans for the remaining buildings begin.
2021
Misty Eyes is granted approval of the site plans by the Town of Avon and the state.
JUN 2022
Construction of Kitty City begins.
RAY’S TRASH donates their services to remove a garage.
SUNBELT RENTALS donates the equipment to excavate.
JUL 2022
Concrete is poured and the frame goes up for Kitty City.
SEP 2022
Plumbing install begins at Kitty City.
OCT 2022
USA ROOFING donates and completes the roof at Kitty City.
DEC 2022
Kitty City exterior construction continues.
JAN 2023
Gas tanks for winter construction
FEB 2023
Kitty City HVAC & plumbing installed.
MAR 2023
Kitty City exterior complete.
JUN 2023
Kitty City exterior is painted.
SEP 2023
Drywall goes up at Kitty City.
OCT 2023
PolyPro flooring finished and electrical completed at Kitty City.
NOV 2023
Kitty City interior trim, doors and smoke detectors installed.
Kitty City interior painted by volunteers.
Kitty City exterior lights installed.
DEC 2023
Interior cabinetry for Kitty City to be ordered.
