The Need

For every one animal we save, we turn away two, mainly due to space limitations.  This number brings to light the need and the urgency of Kitty City.  This building will allow us to save approximately 400 additional cats, ever year, for years to come.

Building History & Timeline

2011 - Misty Eyes Animal Center is founded by Cherie Fox and Renee Harlor.

2015 - 3.1 acres of land is purchased on Dan Jones Road in Avon.

2016 - A remodel begins on the ranch home that stood on the property.  

2018 - Misty Eyes moves into the remodeled ranch, which is our current adoption center.  Plans for the remaining buildings begin. 

2021 - Misty Eyes is granted approval of the site plans by the Town of Avon and the state.  

June  2022 - Construction of Kitty City begins. Ray's Trash donates their services to remove a garage and Sunbelt Rentals donates the equipment to excavate. 

July 2022 - Concrete is poured and the frame is going up!

September 2022 - Plumbing is being installed.

October 2022 - The roof is donated by USA Roofing and is in progress.
